Pineapple pie. So I had this patient. We got to talking with them and the family. They told me about this pineapple pie that they used to get at Giant Eagle way back when. They all loved it, but no one made them anymore. Just simple pineapple filling. With few cherries in them, not too much. May be one or two in every slice. There was nothing like it. Oh how they missed the olden days! For 20 minutes, they seemed to have forgotten about the intractable neuropathic pain or the end stage COPD. The patient's gone, but I never forgot the elusive pineapple pie. Or the classic 80's decor in their livingroom. #hospicenurse January 14, 2020 at 07:49PM
